Chris Copeland, JD, CAE
Chris Copeland became Executive Director of TVMA in 2009 after spending ten years as its General Counsel/Director of Government Relations. He previously served as chief of staff/general counsel to a member of the Texas Legislature and practiced law for several years after graduating from law school. Mr. Copeland graduated magna cum laude from Texas State University in 1987 and received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law in 1990. In 2014 he earned his Certified Association Executive credentials. Mr. Copeland has served on the board of directors of the Texas Society for Biomedical Research and the Veterinary Medical Association Executives and currently serves as the President of the American Veterinary Medical Law Association.
